Kia Motors, a Hyundai subsidiary, debuted its first electric vehicle in India today. The much-talked-about Kia EV6 will be available in two trim levels: GT Line and GT Line AWD. While all of the specs of the electric crossover were previously known, the price was kept a secret. The GT Line version of the Kia EV6 will cost Rs 59.95 lakh, while the GT Line AWD variant will cost Rs 64.95 lakh, according to Kia India (both prices, ex-showroom). The car will be delivered starting in September of this year. The problem is that the AWD version will be ready in September, but the RWD version will not be accessible until December.

Only 100 CBUs (Complete Built-Up Units) would be accessible at first, according to Kia, which is importing the automobile as CBUs. Bookings began on May 26 at 15 select dealerships in India’s 12 major cities.

Features of the Kia EV6

The award-winning Kia EV6, which has been well accepted in all markets where it has been introduced, offers stylish appearance and a spacious cabin with a variety of ADAS features.

The 77.4kWh battery pack in the EV6 sports crossover is said to have a range of up to 528 kilometres on a single charge. The single-motor RWD version has 229 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, while the dual-motor AWD version has 325 horsepower and 605 pound-feet of torque.

The Kia EV6 has a 350kW charging capability, and a 50kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in 1 hour 13 minutes. Because a full charge takes 36 hours using a house outlet, Kia provides a 22kW home charger to EV6 purchasers. For extra convenience, all 15 Kia shops selling EVs will be equipped with 150kW fast chargers.

The vehicle is equipped with 19-inch wheels and a silvered skid plate. A sloping roofline, a new-age ‘Digital Tiger Face,’ a sculpted bonnet, a streamlined grille, and swept-back LED headlights with boomerang-shaped DRLs are all features of the Kia EV6.

Blacked-out pillars, flush-fitted door handles, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and 19-inch alloy wheels flank it on the sides.

Interiors of the Kia EV6

The EV has eight airbags and ventilated seats on the inside. A multifunctional steering wheel, a minimalist dashboard, a sunroof, heated front seats, a 14-speaker Meridian audio system, and auto climate control are all included in the five-seater cabin. The digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment panel each have twin 12.3-inch displays.

The Kia EV6 comes with Panoramic Dual 31.24 cm (12.3″) Curved Displays that show navigation, driving data, and vehicle functions. It also comes with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and an Augmented Reality-enabled head-up display (HUD) with vehicle speed information and turn-by-turn navigation directions.

The inside of the Kia EV6 is completely black, including black suede seats and vegan leather bolsters. Moonscape, Snow White Pearl, Runway Red, Aurora Black Pearl, and Yacht Blue are the five exterior colours available for the Kia EV6 in India.

The Kia EV 6 will compete against the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Volvo XC40 Recharge, which will be released soon, and the BMW i4 electric car, which has already been released in India.
